Bucket elevator is widely used to transfer bulk, granular and powdered materials vertically in the building materials industries, such as: clinker, cement, slag, pulverized coal, crushed limestone and gypsum. The elevator bucket consists of the tape, the hopper, the traction member, the driving rollers (or sprocket) and tensioning drum (or sprocket). The advantages of bucket elevator are simple structure, small footprint in the plane, high transmission capacity, high conveying height, good sealing performance, less dust, convenient management, and simple operation and maintenance. But the disadvantage is overload sensitivity, so materials must be fed evenly, and the bucket and chain are easily broken.
According to the installation form, bucket elevator is pided into vertical and inclined types; according to the discharging features, it can be pided into centrifugal type and gravity; according to the loading characteristics, it has dig ponens and inflow style; according to the types of the buckets, it is pided into deep bucket type, shallow bucket type and tip surface bucket type with directory chute; it can be pided into belt type, ring type, and chain plate type according to the driving components; according to the working conditions, it can be pided into heavy, medium and light types.
The loading ways of bucket hoist are dig ponens and inflow style. Dig ponens is mainly used for conveying bulk materials in powder, granular, and small block which does not produce a lot of resistance, so the allowed operating speed is much higher, 0.8 ~ 2m / s. Infow type is mainly used to transport large bulk and abrasive materials, and the arrangement of its hopper is very dense to prevent the materials scattering between the hoppers, and the hopper can run no faster than 1 m / s.
Generally, only when the vertical bucket elevator cannot meet the requirement of production, tilting traction elevator won’t be chosen, because if the vertical degree is too large, there must be additional supporting driving components, which makes the structure of the elevator complex, so we rarely use tilting bucket elevator.
